i know im late in learning python, but you know what it is said “it’s better late than never”. python is a great scripting language and i wanted to start learning it along time ago, but i think the best way to learn something is by actually using it in something usefull.  last week i had a task to rename some folders, actually it was only a part of the folder name that i have to change , so the task needed some string manipulation and file system access, i know this job could be done using bash and regular expressions , but i thought it is really a good time to give python a try , i opened google and started looking for articles . it didnt took me a lot of time to figure out the script , and the final result was awesome , i  loved it even if it is a small script , i loved the way python combines OOP with scripting capabilities.

IQ League has a nice 60 seconds IQ test , but it is different from any other IQ test i’ve seen, why? the funny part of the story is that they not only ranking you against other people, instead they are ranking browsers on OS, countries , cities, and the coolest thing there ranking websites, they take the referrer of each visitor , save it , and calculate the IQ for that website to give a rank.

if you have 1 minute you could go and check it out.

Time to Change !

a question always been jumping in my mind from one corner to the other; When should somone leave a company? or even should (s)he?

when the company you are workin for doesn’t meet your standards for either salary or work quality it is reasonable to think of a change, but what about google, even if it is the dream of many programmers to work for, people do leave google !!

about a year and a half back when i was a fresh grauate and i got this job, it was like the dream job for me , a programming job with a very high speed internet connection (which was like my dream in college days) ,doing the stuff i like, the way i like, what do i want more?

Now when i look at my job it is mostly routine tasks , no more creativity, no more new stuff to learn. i realized (and it is only a thought) that it doesn’t matter how good the company is , or the job is , it is going to be like that; a routine task, and i dont like routines.

i think it is clear now that it is Time to Change
