The Art of Blocking

| June 29th, 2008

ok i know it is the second post in a row that talks about the websites blocking access based on the geographical Location of an IP address, i dont want to make my blog a bloked-websites-tracking-blog but i dont like to be treated as a fool, ok you want to block it is up to you just say it loud and clear “im blocking you because of your IP” dont try to fool me with this “500 Internal Server Error” or another stupid “404 not found” message.
posterous is the new player in this game, it gives “500 internal server error” from here, the guys at posterous didn’t bother to make it in header, if you take a look at the page headers it says 200 OK, they printed it in the page i mean c’mon is it that hard to change the headers.
again PHProxy wins :D

google 404 or 403

| June 21st, 2008

when you surf from a country blocked on the US list and try to download something from google code you should get used to this

last night i was trying to download google talk for a friend and i was expecting the usual 403 but what i got was this

anyway i couldn’t believe that so i tried to open it using a proxy and bang the download started, it looks like download and code have different policies concerning user credibility .

thanks to the PhProxy team for making my life easier , and i would donate if only i could open paypal from here :p
